Voices of LA Summer Series Is Heating Up

Dear Voices of LA Community,

Summer may be coming to a close, but the Voices of LA Festival continues to generate excitement across the city. Three out of the five Voices of LA cross-cultural collaborations premiered in July to rave reviews, and the final two are set to debut in the the coming week and a half - Veranda: Contemplating Spaces In Between on Thursday, August 21st and Ate9 Dance Company & Omid Walizadeh on Sunday, August 24th.

Don't miss the opportunity to be a part of this incredible citywide series.

RSVP now for the upcoming performances in August, starting with Sunday's presentation of Along the Hyphen at the Breed Street Shul in Boyle Heights.

In my many years of producing as the President of Community Arts Resources, the company has never had the chance to commission so many pieces by local LA artists in just one summer. Thanks to the incredible support of the Harry and Belle Krupnick Endowment Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles, Voices of LA has created a platform for the development and presentation of original, world-class, cross-cultural collaborations between LA Jewish artists and artmakers from diverse communities across Los Angeles.

In July, Wil-Dog and Jarell Perry's set at the Echoplex rocked the house. Perry's alternative R&B delivery and angelic voice were interwoven through Wil-Dog's mesmerizing hip-hop, Latin and rock tapestry. This year's Grammy Award-winning group La Santa Cecilia from East LA and Yuval Ron's powerful ensemble brought the packed house inside The Pico Union Project to a standing ovation. The ten musicians and spoken word artists from Along the Hyphen have created a masterful sixty minutes which will move you through Los Angeles in new and unexpected ways.

In the coming week and a half, Voices of LA will premiere the remaining two Summer Series collaborations. Reserve your tickets now before they sell out.
